South Ward Promise Neighborhood launches Gateway U, a new initiative that will offer accredited and affordable degrees through an innovative hybrid college model.
Gateway U’s vision is to increase pathways to higher education by working to improve socioeconomic mobility through an affordable and accessible college experience. Gateway U is committed to providing a high quality academic experience, flexible course work, and a community of support. Gateway U combines the best of two worlds to ensure students graduate faster and with
little to no debt no matter if they are 21 or 35. Gateway U is strategically partnered with TRiO New College Network, a hybrid college incubation fellowship.
Through this fellowship, Gateway U will receive ongoing support and training to ensure its students and its community’s needs are fully supported.
Gateway U is slated to open with its first cohort in October 2021 with 50 100 students and will be located in Newark, NJ.
