Single mother of five, Miss M. was struggling to get her kids to school on time every day. She didn’t own a car so her kids had to take two buses. Often times Miss M. didn’t have bus money so the kids had to walk to school. As a result, they were arriving late, missing critical class instruction and falling behind.

SWPN’s Success Mentor(SM) stepped in to provide support to the family. The SM arranged for daily transportation to school at no cost to Miss M. She coordinated the entire pick-up process from 7:20am every morning when she called the taxi service to set up the 7:45am pick up time. She would then alert Miss M when the taxi arrived at their home. Taking these actions ensured that the children would arrive on or before the school bell rang. The SM would greet them every morning when the taxi dropped them off at school. Getting to school on-time made an immediate impact on their schoolwork and the kids began to excel.
