Jasmine Spencer

Jasmine Spencer is the Director of Childhood Education. She brings a deep experience in early childhood education, public education and a passion for families. Jasmine comes from a long line of educators starting with her grandparents by whom she was greatly influenced. This ultimately led her to follow in their foot steps by attending Hampton University focusing on Early Childhood Education, she graduated with both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the institution. While in college, Jasmine began her career at the NASA Langley Early Childhood Center where she worked and learned over the next four years.

Upon graduation with a Master’s degree in early childhood education, Jasmine went into the public school setting. Spending the next 5 years teaching and learning from master educators in the Chesapeake Public School District in Chesapeake, VA. In 2008, after completing her second Master’s in Educational Leadership, Jasmine moved to the tristate area and for the next 10 years worked at KIPPNJ at TEAM Academy. Through her work at TEAM she was afforded the opportunity to build and grow in a way that allowed her to develop her leadership skills while forging lasting relationships with the children and families in the South Ward.

Jasmine is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and in her free time she loves spending time with her family, catching a movie and reading a good book.
